Limehouse Petition - English Print Version £14.95

Untitled Document The Limehouse Petition; for a future inner city

A campaign brochure setting out the celebrated story of the Limehouse Basin development in London's docklands where local people tried to halt a developer's scheme for luxury housing and instigate a mixed-use, community-based alternative.

Although not achieving all its objectives, the document played an important role in securing a higher standard of development both for Limehouse and for the docklands area generally. It is a fascinating, comprehensive analysis of a major development opportunity and a rare insight into the passion and fury of development politics in the 1980s.
